If it was the 2nd then you may not have BDed within the time frame. When I was trying for my daughter 10 years ago I went by BBT and thought it was pretty accurate. BBT is more "accurate" in that it is the only of the two that will actually confirm that you've ovulated. Unfortunately, it only tells you after the fact. It is possible to get a +OPK and not ovulate, which is why OPKs are not always accurate.
